Dear Friends,

Happy 2009 Everybody! I am excited to see what possibilities 2009 holds for everyone. I am sending this email to catch up on some news about my new art show and The Tulsa Girls Art School.

First of all, I have painted 12 new original oil paintings that are hanging till the end of March 2009 at The Wild Fork Restaurant in Utica Square in Tulsa, OK. The show is called “Fairy Tails” and the paintings depict dogs and cats in their favorite fairy tails. The fairy tails in the show include Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, The Snow Queen, Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty to name a few. The collection is very whimsical and I hope that if you would like a smile put on your face while eating some great food, then you will stop by and have a look! The entire collection can be seen on my website www.m2tulsa.com.

The Tulsa Girls Art School Project (TGAS) is fast approaching our 2nd anniversary since we opened our studio in 2007. The girls have been making all types of art in preparation for our show coming Thursday, April 16th, 2009.

We have a new assistant director at TGAS, her name is Amanda Burn and we are SO Lucky to have her! Amanda is a local Tulsa artist who attended TU and graduated with an art degree with emphasis in painting and ceramics. The girls are making series of art tiles for our spring show under Amanda’s tutelage and really are producing some great art! We also have an intern at TGAS, Ms. Rebecca Roselle, a junior at Cascia Hall. Rebecca loves talking with the girls and making art along side of them, meanwhile learning how a non-profit is run.

Late Night with Ben Sumner came and filmed a spot of TGAS for their show that will air on Cox cable channel 12, at 11pm on Saturday, Jan. 24th., 2009. Oklahoma Visual Artists Coalition newsletter will feature TGAS in their Spring 2009 newsletter. In December TGAS and I had a wonderful article in Tulsa People Magazine by local author Connie Cronley!

This year TGAS is working with 12 girls from Roosevelt Elementary in Owen Park in Tulsa. The girls learned painting during the fall session and now are concentrating on ceramics and fiber art. The 12 advanced girls are working on individual pieces that they choose to create, and my job is to support them. Please see our website at www.tulsagirlsartschool.com if you would like to get involved or know an artist who would like to come and teach a class or mentor a student. We are also building our art library at TGAS and happily accept any artist biographies or art books that you may like to donate to us…clean out your bookshelves or alert me when a book fair is going on…

Thanks everyone for your time and I hope that you and your loved ones are healthy, happy and appreciating art! Remember to support local artists and buy Local ART!! Oh- Lisa Regan/Garden Deva and Myself will have a little pre-valentines day sale at her studio (317 S. Trenton Ave., Tulsa, OK) if you want to surprise your honey with art.

My Tulsa

A new collection of Tulsa cityscapes by Matt Moffett at The Wild Fork Restaurant in Utica Square.

Hello Everybody!  I just wanted to let you know that I just hung a show at The Wild Fork restaurant in Utica Square.  The show is called “My Tulsa” and it is twelve oil paintings depicting various places and buildings that I consider to be “my Tulsa”.

The first time I had a show about Tulsa (called “Downtown” at The Circle Cinema in August 2006, I sold out! Since then I have had so many requests for more, so I came up with this new show.

Some paintngs are of downtown, including The Blue Dome, and Boston Avenue but also of the Garden Center, Woodward Park and Utica Square.  The show was hung yesterday and will be up till the end of July.  There is no formal opening because I am traveling and studying art in Santa Fe, NM and NYC in May 2008.  I hope that you will stop by (Wild Fork, yum!) and see my newest collection.

If you would like to add one of these fabulous paintings to your personal collection, please don’t hesitate to call me…or if you would like I can join you for a meal and talk about my inspiration for the show.  Hope all is well and that you are enjoying this fabulous spring!!  Oh- you can see the paintings online under cityscapes on my website, www.m2tulsa.com or www.m2studioportraits.com. Drop me a line and tell me what you think or what your favorite icons of Tulsa are… I am sure I will have another show of Tulsa paintngs!

Thank you for your support and always buy local art!
